APCO’s new 18 and 20m slalom racing wing.

from APCO “The APCO NRG is the “Bad Boy” in Apco’s Paramotor wings family. Like your kid brother, it’s small but with a lot of attitude. It is a specifically designed slalom racing wing that’s also fun to just play around with. Speed and handling characterize this wing but it’s real virtues are stability and safety in extreme maneuvers. We are proud of this wing and are sure you will be too..”

What swing say: Advanced PPG pilots can look forward to new levels in stability, agility and speed. SWING’s paramotor brand POWERPLAY has developed the SCORPIO, the new reflex wing, and tested it according to the most exacting of considerations. In charge of this was multiple German champion and record holder Peter Schulz, who followed every step of development extremely carefully and thus had considerable input into the development of the SCORPIO.

APCO release the slimline bullet riser to reduce drag

$

The bullet riser shown left has been designed to produce a reduced area to the direction of travel and airflow.

APCO state:

Bullet Riser - a revolutionary design of riser. (In the best APCO tradition thinking outside the box)

The riser which will set the future design for the industry - reduction of riser drag by 80% and more.
Its drop shaped branches produce only a fraction of the drag produced by regular risers. It is still made from the same 25mm. width webbing, butshaped into a tear drop profile – easy to understand and handle.

See the photos comparing the 2 risers and their frontal areas – on the left bullet riser, right side regular riser -
no further comments required! – A truly intelligent design.

It is a very effective way of improving performance without sacrificing safety, handling and integrity of the wing.

We like the idea and see its another step towards the future of flying.

Bailey Hornet 2 Stroke Twin Cylinder Paramotor Engine

Since the beginning of the year Bailey Aviation have been designing and developing a new PPG 2 stroke engine, known as the Hornet. The Hornet has been designed due to many customer requests for an ‘Ultimate’ 2 stroke engine that is powerful, lightweight and reliable.

The engine is a twin cylinder design that is very compact and lightweight. It will fit in the ‘higher power’ end of the market and be primarily aimed at slalom competition flying.

Utilising a helical gear reduction system, centrifugal clutch and manual pull start arrangement, power output is around 28-30hp (TBC) and all up weight is around 15.5kg.

They will be officially launching this new engine at the Coupe-Icare exhibition in St Hilaire in France from 19th-22nd September. Why not come and see it for yourself – for details of the Coupe-Icare exhibition, please visit their official website here:- www.coupe-icare.org/GB_home.html

Specification and prices for the Hornet will be relesed over the coming weeks, so please make sure to re-visit their web site for the latest updates. http://www.baileyaviation.com

Air Conception produce Titanium Exhaust for 130cc engine further reducing weight

Air Conception the well known French Paramotor manufacturer has produced a Titanium Exhaust for their Ultimate 130cc engine, making this little power plant even lighter. The engine that was already one of the lightest power to weight units available is now only 10.5kg when fitted with the titanium exhaust, with specs of 25hp & claimed thrusts up to 68kg. Not only lighter the titanium exhaust is reported to be stronger and quieter.

Adding the titanium exhaust brings the complete weight of the Ultimate 130 titanium paramotor down to a mere 19.5kg. We can say it is a nice looking exhaust and a welcome departure from the common black painted exhausts we are used to seeing. Can be seen in the UK at Custom-Air.
